After a ban in 2020 over data privacy concerns, Chinese fast-fashion giant Shein has re-entered the Indian market through a collaboration with Reliance Industries. The new platform, “Shein India Fast Fashion,” launched in January 2025, offers a localized app and plans to manufacture products domestically. Initially, the service is available in select regions, with plans for nationwide expansion. This move reflects Shein’s strategy to adapt to India’s regulatory environment and growing e-commerce sector. The partnership aims to tap into India’s vast consumer base while addressing previous concerns.
