The senior art director credited for the Warcraft franchise name leaves after 32 years
Samwise Didier, senior art director at Blizzard Entertainment, has introduced his retirement from the company.
He’s been with the developer since 1991 and is credited for the Warcraft name, in step with his Dungeons and Dragons persona in the end of its figuring out.
Didier introduced his exit on social media, and in his message, he acknowledged, “[Blizzard] became my second dwelling. I realized nearly all the pieces I learn about art there.
“I realized how to make spend of a computer (I easiest knew Atari 2600 and Nintendo), I realized how to make spend of Photoshop, I realized how to perform UI and build thousands of buttons…I got to gawk my art come to lifestyles!”
His game credits consist of Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, and WarCraft 3: Reforged.
Didier’s retirement comes per week after Blizzard introduced its subsequent chapter for Warcraft, World of Warcraft: The Worldsoul Saga.
