India has initiated a comprehensive campaign to eradicate cervical cancer by training thousands of doctors to promote the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. Recognizing that India accounts for one in five cervical cancer cases globally, the initiative aims to increase vaccination rates, which have been historically low due to high costs and misinformation. The campaign includes virtual training for 11,000 doctors, community outreach in local languages, and integration of vaccination awareness into regular gynecological visits. With the development of an affordable domestically-produced HPV vaccine, this effort seeks to significantly reduce the incidence of cervical cancer in the country.
