The Kent roads contract will gaze Skanska gain four miles of original aspect dual carriageway to glue the southern portal of the Decrease Thames Crossing tunnel with the A2/M2 in north Kent.

The Kent Roads contract is the second of three main contracts for the £9bn Decrease Thames Crossing. A separate £2.3bn contract for the tunnels and approaches is anticipated to be awarded later this year. The shortlist for this contains:

Nationwide Highways has utilized for a fashion consent direct (planning permission for projects of this scale). The Planning Inspectorate began the six-month course of of detailed examination of the plans on Twentieth June 2023. If consent is granted, the six-year building interval is anticipated to originate in 2026.
